"Vivda La Vida" is a 2008 song by the British alternative rock band Coldplay from their album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends. The song's name translates to "long live life". The frontman, Chris Martin, told Rolling Stone that he saw the phrase on a painting by Frida Kahlo.[1]
In Real Life covered the song during their Tonight Belongs To You Tour, Michael playing the violin and the rest of the band singing the last two verses.
Lyrics[]
I hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing
Roman cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
I know St. Peter won't call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh [5x]
I hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing
Roman cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
I know St. Peter won't call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world
