Growing up, everyone in his family was musically gifted except for Jaden himself. However, with some practice he eventually found his voice. He is the youngest of six from a blended family. Jaden idolizes his older brother and tries to mimic his singing style. They are best friends despite their 11-year age difference.

In one of the Boy Band episodes, Jaden explains that his biological father had been in and out of jail during his childhood. But Jaden still loved him despite all those things.

He auditioned for ABC's Boy Band with Leonard Cohen's “Hallelujah”, and became an instant favorite, making the Top 8. Along with Cam Jackson, Marcus Pendleton, and Mikey Jimenez, they created a band called 4th Ave.
