"Tonight Belongs to You" (abbreviated as "TBTY") is the fourth single recorded by In Real Life that was released through Hollywood Records on July 13, 2018.[1] Almost two hours in, the music video reached #8 on iTunes, and attained three million views in a week.[citation needed] IRL performed the song at Kidtopia in Arizona, at the Minneapolis Convention Center, and the 96.5 Kiss FM concert. Their headlining concert tour that began in September 2018 was named after the single.
Background[]
Before the release date, the band performed the song live and revealed some of the recording in their YouTube series, Real Life with In Real Life. Initially the single was planned to be released on July 6th.[2]
In an interview with Soundigest, Conor Michael Smith shared, "'Tonight Belongs To You' is one of our personal favorites, I remember it was one of the easiest songs to record. It came together really easily and it's one of the most fun to perform. The song has elements of both pop and Latin, and the chorus is so much fun for us to sing."

The music video was directed by the duo, milesandaj (Miles Cable and AJ Favicchio), produced by Brian Bell, and commissioned by Craig Cox and Chris Varonos.[3] The location was in The Bahamas.
